The four initiators act as a steering committee in the CDI and develop the network towards a central contact point for all decarbonisation stakeholders. In this way, they bundle extensive expert knowledge for a climate-friendly industry in a single location in Cottbus and also actively contribute to the structural development of the region.

Institute of Low-Carbon Industrial Processes at the German Aerospace Center 40DLR41
Research at the Institute of Low-Carbon Industrial Processes at DLR focuses on the sustainable generation of process heat as well as alternatives to fossil fuels, with the aim of making production in key industrial sectors more environmentally friendly.
Fraunhofer Research Institution for Energy Infrastructures and Geothermal Systems IEG
Formed in December 2019, the Cottbus-based Fraunhofer Research Institution for Energy Infrastructures and Geothermal Systems IEG conducts research in the fields of integrated energy infrastructures, geothermal power and resources as well as sector coupling for a successful energy transition.
Competence Centre on Climate Change Mitigation in Energy-Intensive Industries 40KEI41
The KEI provides support and funding for the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions to energy-intensive industries in Germany on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
