As part of its annual delegation tour, the CDI International Innovation Group is visiting the industrial regions of Aalborg and Frederikshavn in North Jutland, Denmark.
Interested CDI partners are warmly invited to take part in the tour. The varied programme offers the opportunity to network with key players from business and politics, gain insights into local decarbonisation projects and initiate new collaborations.
Following visits to the UK’s Humber Cluster in 2024 and Spain’s Net Zero Basque Industrial Super Cluster in 2025, the 2026 delegation tour will take us to Aalborg and Frederikshavn in North Jutland – one of Northern Europe’s most exciting decarbonisation hotspots.
Flagship projects of decarbonisation in the region
Around Aalborg, we will visit innovative pioneering projects that are playing a key role in driving the transition to a climate-neutral industry.
At Norbis Park, Aalborg Forsyning demonstrates an integrated energy system in which Everllence´s seawater heat pumps convert renewable electricity and heat from the Limfjord into district heating, while Kyoto´s Heatcube stores surplus electricity as thermal energy and releases it into Aalborg´s district heating when needed. At Aalborg Portland, we gain insights into one of Europe’s leading decarbonisation projects in the energy-intensive cement industry, in which Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) plays a central role. Aalborg Harbour will give us a fascinating insight into its diverse port infrastructure (Blaest Test Center for rotor blades, storage and shipping facilities for CO2, PtX production).
In Frederikshavn, our CDI partner Everllence provides insights into the next generation of climate-friendly ship propulsion systems which combine conventional marine fuel with ethanol or methanol. The visit to the neighbouring Naval Base Frederikshavn also highlights the growing strategic importance of maritime infrastructure against the backdrop of current geopolitical developments.
The tour offers a unique opportunity to gain first-hand insight into technological innovations, industrial transformation and security policy perspectives in one of Northern Europe’s most dynamic industrial regions.

Kosten
Die Kosten für Übernachtungen und Hin- und Rückreise per Bahn oder Flugzeug im Rahmen der Delegationsreise sind von den Organisationen der Teilnehmenden selbst zu buchen und zu bezahlen.
Für die darüber hinaus anfallenden Kosten für die Organisation der Reise (Bus, Networking Dinner, Raummiete etc.) können wir eine kostenlose Teilnahme lediglich für CDI Partner-Organisationen anbieten, die keine wirtschaftliche bzw. unternehmerische Tätigkeit ausüben oder für Unternehmen, welche auf Basis der De-minimis Regelung mitreisen. Hintergrund ist, dass das Programm der Delegationsreise aus öffentlichen Mitteln finanziert wird. Alternativ bieten wir noch die Teilnahme auf Selbstkostenbasis an. Siehe hierzu im Detail Punkt 3 des Vertrages.
